Off to Utah We Go...

Me and the kids are heading off to Utah in the morning, for a 3 week visit. Yaay!

Letters

Okay this is too cute, I had to post it. My Dad emailed this note to Brig when he saw the preschool graduation post....

Brig,

Wow, you must have been super good in school to get a diploma and a trip to the zoo. I am very proud of what a great guy you are growing up to be. I am so excited that you are coming for a summer visit this Sunday, we’ll have to do some fun stuff while you are here. Would you like to go out on the boat?

When your mommy was a little girl and did good in School Nana and I would take her for a treat (she was good in school just like you). When you are here I’d like to take you out for a treat too. Ask your mom what the good student treat is.

I love you and am excited to see you in 5 days.

So cute! SO after I read it to Brig he wanted to write a letter back to Pa, so I asked him what he wanted to say...these are the words right out of his mouth...

Pa,

I love you. I want to play with you when I visit. I want to draw and color and play with toys and be T-Rexes with you. And eat too with Pa and Nana. I want to eat at the table at your house. I like chocolate ice cream with green. I want to sit on the boat and play. I will wear my lifejacket and maybe drive the boat. Will you help me?

I want to sleep at your house, in the room with the freaky monkey. I like to play with the freaky monkey, the freaky monkey's name is Curious George! It's not scary anymore. I love you! See you in Utah.

hIlLarIoUs.....and the good student treat is ice cream...which is why Brig says he likes "chocolate ice cream with green" (aka Mint Chip). Also, the "freaky monkey" is this toy monkey in the closet of the grandkids room at my Mom and Dad's house. When Brig was like 2 he named it the "Freaky Monkey" and has always been scared of it, I guess he is ready to conquer his fear.

Steppin' Up

My little guy is growing up on me...he finished his 1st year of preschool. He loved every minute of it. It was so fun to watch him over the year learning and coming home and telling me all about it.

Last Saturday they did a "Steppin' Up" Ceremony for all of the kids.

They sang songs and even got a diploma!

Brig loved all of his teachers. They were so great, and Miss Louise is so cute she reminds me of Super Nanny with her cute accent.

Raegan pouting, because of course she felt left out of all the fun.

It's so hard for her to understand why se can't do all the same stuff as the 4 year olds!

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Brig school went to the zoo for a fieldtrip.

I love our zoo it is the perfect size and we have some great animals, including 2 polar bears which are the kids favorite. But our Lions are not doing so well, they are lathargic, skinny and their hair is even starting to fall out. They just lay there and it is so sad, the zoo says they are just old and that it's normal, but I still feel bad for "Sarabi and Mufassa" (as my kids call them).

Brig's friend was cracking me up, because he kept looking at this map like he could read it looking for the anteaters. It was hilarious.

Happy Mother's Day!

I want to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day,
especially my mom! She is such a great person, and I am so lucky to have her. She is also one of my greatest friends, a wonderful grandma and such a great example.

I am also so grateful to Paul's mom for raising him, I love him so much and I owe a lot to her.


Today has also made me so grateful that I am a mother. There is no other thing that I would rather be doing in my life right now. Brig and Raegan are both amazing kids that teach me so much and their unconditional love is such a blessing to me.

Thanks Paul and the kids for another great Mother's Day!

I Love Yard Sales!!

I found this at a yard sale yesterday for my bedroom!

And I don't even have to paint it or anything!!

A Whole Bunch of Cannons...

Paul's brother, who also lives here in Arizona blessed his little baby boy this past weekend.

So we were so lucky to have Paul's parents and his sister, Cindy, and her family come to visit (we missed you Sam and Jessie).

It was a fun filled weekend, and we already miss having you all here.

Cousins

The story behind these pictures is too cute. Brig asked my Brother-In -Law, Chris, if he would take some pictures of him and Raegan with Carter.
So here are some of the shots that I snapped during their little photo shoot.
My kids loved having "Baby Carter" staying at our house, he is such a good natured little kid.

The Cannon Boys are famous for their yUmMy Dutch Oven Creations. So Friday night we all headed to the Catalina State Park and had some tasty food. (The fire risk was too high, so NO campfire). Paul was a good sport, he was feeling really sick but still came along!

"God Made Dirt, So Dirt Don't Hurt" At least I hope so, because clearly Raegan was enjoying herself playing in the dirt. She had fun, so that's all that matters!!
