My Little Polar Bears

Brig & Raegan just finished their swim lessons for the summer, and they did GREAT! It was fun to watch their progression from the first week all the way until the fourth week.

Raegan loved her class.

The first 2 weeks her class was pretty big, but the last 2 weeks there were only 3 of them and they had 2 teachers most of the time. She loved her darling teacher Carly
(no pictures of her).

Her favorite thing to do was hang on to the side of the pool and then dunk her head all of the way under. She kept calling to me "Mommy, watch what I can do?" She never bored of it. She also got really good at blowing bubbles, kicking and swimming with her teacher. She learned front floats and back floats and how to do BIG arms (with the teachers support)!

Brig is my little POLAR BEAR! The teacher caught on quickly and did a good job playing along with the polar bear concept. Brig did so good. By the end of the lessons he learned to swim on his own, if he can learn to come up for breath he will be good to go. In the picture he is on the kickboard, which he thought was super fun. He learned to dive in and swim "big arms". But his favorite way to swim is of course, like a polar bear, under water! And he picked it up quick.

Good Job to my kiddos, I am excited for next year to see what else they can learn.

hApPy KiDs DaY!

So after Mother's Day and Father's Day my kids wanted to know when Happy Kid's Day was!

So Paul got really excited and set the date...

Happy Kid's Day would be July 19th!

So July 19th came and Brig was not feeling so great but we decided to give it a go! So they started out the morning by opening a Happy Kid's Day present and then Brig got so sick that we decided to finish Happy Kid's Day when he would enjoy it more.

Paul was really cute because he was so bummed that we had to postpone the BIG day.

So this past Saturday we started it all over again! They woke up in the morning and got Paul's famous Mickey Pancakes

(he really makes yummy pancakes)!
After breakfast we headed to the movie theatre to see the movie Wall-E, which the kids liked but we thought it was a letdown! That's okay it's always fun to take the kids to a movie.
(seriously they are a little crazy!)

They got pampered all day with their favorites...

Mac and Cheese with Hot Dogs for Lunch and Grilled Cheese for Dinner!!

So I think Happy Kid's Day is a new family tradition, the kids loved it. They kept saying is this "Happy Kids Day Movie?", "Is this Happy Kids Day Lunch?".......

Playdate

Our friends, Mary and Ryan, had their Anniversary yesterday so we got to watch their kids so they could go out to dinner. The kids had a blast running around, playing Batman, riding bikes, watching "Phineas & Ferb", riding the bucking horse (aka Paul) and rough housing! They squeezed a lot in a couple of hours.

They even left Baby Dylan for the 1st time ever, he is such a sweetheart!

Arizona Sanity Saver...

I am so so so glad that the Monsoons are here! It is a relief from the HEAT! I swear they are super early this year, but I am NOT complaining. When it rains it pours, literally. They give no warning, it just starts pouring. And I mean POURING, I have never seen any rain like it before! Sometimes, if you are driving you have to pull over because you can't see a thing! They best part is after a monsoon, it cools everything down. The downside is a few hours later it is MUGGY! But a release from the heat is still welcomed! Hopefully this Monsoon Season is a long one!

I Love It!

For those of you who don't know what a monsoon is, here is Wikipedia's definition:

A monsoon is a seasonal prevailing wind which lasts for several months (ours isn't quite that long)... In hydrology, monsoon rainfall is considered to be that which occurs in any region that receives the majority of its rain during a particular season.

Happy Independence Day!

I love the 4th of July! I love the reminder to be grateful for the beautiful country that we live in and to be reminded of the freedoms that we take for granted.

This 4th of July our friends, the Haughts, invited us to their cabin (thanks guys). It was so much fun. We went to a parade in the morning, played at the Lake and then went to a Rodeo that night. The rest of the weekend we relaxed, shot pellet guns, played old school NES nintendo and did more relaxing and visiting.

The Rodeo...Brig loved everything about it. He was even patient enough to wait until the very end to see the Bull Riding, and was annoyed at the bulls because they kept bucking off the cowboys! Ha!


We went to the ski resort nearby and rode the lift to the top, isn't that view gorgeous?? Not to shabby for Arizona!

My sister Jana, has an amazing and talented sister-in-law Lily who took our pictures while we were in Utah! These are the ones she has sent me so far, I LOVE THEM!

There are so many reasons that I love my husband, and this is definitely one of them....

He can be the goofiest guy out there. So Paul's family does this shootout whenver they all get together. So this time him and his brother, Matt thought it would be funny to come all dressed up crazy to set the mood! So they headed to Savers and got these whacky outfits...it was a HIT! They even came out of the car blaring some old school mexican music. It was classic!

We were in St. George so it was pretty hot out there, but the kids found the only place with shade and camped out.


I shot in the "Annie Oakley" division, I am HORRIBLE...but it was still fun!

Cannon Reunion!

On our way home to Arizona, we got to go to the 1st Cannon Family Reunion in St. George! It was such a blast, I really love Paul's family. They are so much fun, never a dull moment! It was fun to have all of Paul's siblings, his parents, Grandma, Aunts and Uncles and Cousins all together. (Isn't it amazing how those Cannons all look so much alike??)

My favorite line was when we were all sitting watching a movie at night, and Paul got up to go to the bathroom. A minute later Raegan leans over to Matt (Paul's brother) and says

"Where's your brother, Uncle Mack??"

It was hilarious, why she didn't ask where her dad was is beyond me, but it was great. I think it all just started making sense to her that Paul and I have brothers and sisters and moms and dads!
