"Goodbye Old Faithful"

Paul loves his alarm clock, good old faithful.

He got it his freshman year of high school, and gets very irritated whenever I even mention the small possibility of maybe, just maybe replacing it. It's like a friend to him.

Well Friday he got in one of those project moods and decided to paint our master bedroom (we painted it a brown awhile ago, and we have both have always HATED it). I thought it was a great idea. Somehow after the room was freshly painted he agreed to replacing old faithful, not happily agreed but agreed. So I jumped at the oppurtunity...I could tell the ordeal was hard for him but it was time. In with new, out with the old...it was time for retirement.

So Paul's project mode sent me straight into project mode so I tackled refinishing our dresser, which has also been on the "To Do" list for awhile. We have this dresser that my mom had given us that is solid and sturdy, just after time and a few moves it was wearing down so I gave it a fresh look with a little paint and new knobs.

So at the end of the day our room was freshly painted bringing a much more light and refreshing feel. And with a spiced up dresser and a new clock the day came to an end.

I love those kind of days!

My Life as "The Pregnant Lady"...

4:50 a.m.-"Do I really have to wake up fo my run? I'm tired"
5:05-"Okay, I'm Up and I'm going..."
5:30-"Oh it really does feel good to get out and run. But man I can't go as far as I used to be able to. Oh well, something is good I guess"
6:30"Oh that was nice, but what I would give to crawl back in bed."
Raegan"Mom I'm thirsty and I'm hungry"
"Okay, the day begins"
9:30 "Could I really be hungry again, I swear I ate breakfast an hour ago?? I'm hungry, yet nothing actually sounds good. Dang!""
10:30-"Okay, I'm dragging...I really need to eat now...whether it sounds good or NOT...I nEeD food asap"
12:00-"Yep...you guessed it, eat again. LUNCHTIME"
1:00-"Kiddos, I love your guts but it's time for naps. I know, you're not tired...but I know you really are so hop in beds"
1:30-"I SHOULD keep working on chores while the house is quiet...oh, but that couch is calling my name I think I'll cave...for just a little bit. I'll set the alarm-30 minutes."
2:00-"beep, beep...15 more minutes, please?"
2:30-"Okay, okay I'm up. Just give me a minute to stand up, I get a bit dizzy after naps..okay, I did it. I'm up!"
3:00-"Now I have my second wind, how much can I squeeze in before dinner?"
4:30-"It's time to start making dinner, what should we have tonight? I was going to make enchiladas...but now that sounds horrid. What do we have stuff to make? Tacos...that doesnt sound good tonight. Okay, nothing really sounds good. We'll go with Pasta, I guess!"
5:30-"Dinner's on the table! Eat up!"
6:30-"I'm tired. Is it 7:30 yet?? "
7:30-"Kids it's time for bed!! I love you, I love you, I love you!! Sweet Dreams"
7:45-"Oh, I'm pregnant so no guilt in finishing up a few things, then throwing some P.J.s on and crashing on the couch in front of some good 'ol T.V. with my hubby"
9:30-"It feels like Midnight...g'night"

Okay, everyday isn't exactly like that! We do leave the house, I promise! But you get the point....hungry, yet nothing sounds good and lots of tIrEd!! But...here's the good news only one more week in the 1st Trimester and I am already feeling so so so much better. It only gets better from here, for a few months at least.

I know, I know...I have been the biggest Blog Slacker ever.

Here are some more fun pics from our trip to Hawaii, we really had the greatest time on the beach, enjoying the sun and being with my parents and brother.

My parents are the greatest and they watched the kids one night while we were in Hawaii so that Paul and I could go to a Luau! It was so much fun, we got to play Hawaiin games, make Hawaiin crafts, learn how to husk a coconut, take a canoe ride and so much more.

Then we got a tasty dinner and the real treat was the amazing show of dancing and music.

I am grateful today for so many things.

A Nice Big Piece of Paradise....

Last week we got to Get Away and go to Hawaii with my parents and brother, Alan!

It was absolute HEAVEN! We all had such a great time and were not ready to go home at the end of the week, I have been home for 3 days now and can't stop thinking about it. The kids figured out real quick that playing in the sun on the beach is the life and couldn't get enough of it. At the end of the week we told Raegan it was time to go home and she matter of factly told us, "Nope, I want to live in Hawaii!"

This is in front of a Shark Pool at a hotel next to ours. Brig loved this place, it had real hammerhead and blacktip sharks and sting rays. That's Brig's kind of place!

Hanauma Bay

We went to Hanauma Bay on Monday...that place is so beautiful! It is this bay on Oahu that is known for snorkeling, so we geared up and headed in. We saw lots of fish and had a great time enjoying the sun.

13.1 Miles...

I DID IT...

I ran my first 1/2 marathon race this weekend!

It was great, so great.

A few months ago a gal in my ward, Lisa, told me that she was going to train for a 1/2 marathon and was trying to recruit other girls to train with her.

I literally laughed at her and told her I was NOT a runner and there was no way. I had never run more than about 3 miles at a time and hated running! Then later that night I got to thinking, and I decided I would start the training program with them but was not convinced I would be able to do the race in only about 3 months.

And here I am now and I DID IT...and I have actually learned to LOVE running.

The Start/Finish Line...the race was in Irvine, Ca and there were 5,000-6,000 people running it...it was crazy!

I didn't get a picture RIGHT after the race, but it was amazing to cross the line...in fact, a bit overwhelming. I was exhausted and my knees were throbbing and my legs felt like they were going to fall off...but I didn't even care, all I wanted was lots and lots to drink and to call Paul to tell him I did it. It took a minute to realize that I had really accomplished it, my goal was to RUN the entire thing and I did.

We were so lucky to be able to stay at Lisa's mother-in-law's beautiful beach house in Huntington Beach. So once we got back, SHOWERED and took a little break we headed out for some yummy lunch (we were STARVING) and to check out the beach.

That night we went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner...this dessert was my REWARD.....mmmm, delicious!

After dinner we headed to the grocery store for some Tylenol and Ice and then back to the beachhouse to catch up on our sleep! :)

It was such a great trip, and I am so lucky to have had that group of girls to run with, we pushed eachother and the only thing that got me out of bed when my alarm went off at 4:50 am all those mornings to run was knowing that they were waiting, and ready to run.

We said we should make this yearly tradition...so we'll see!

This New Years we went over to our friends, Dallas and Laura's house and had a great time playing "American Idol Karaoke"

Happy New Year!

New Year's morning we decided to start the year off going on a hike up Sombrero Peak by our house.
We had so much fun being outside together, it was such a beautiful morning!
